"Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing
His plan to His servants the prophets."
Amos 3:7
"Therefore,
my brothers, be eager to prophesy..."
1 Corinthians 14:39 (a)
"If
a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion
to his faith."
Romans 12:6(b)
"Follow
the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially
the gift of prophecy."
1 Corinthians 14:1
"...if
an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes
in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convicted
by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all,
and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he
will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, God is really
among you!'"
1 Corinthians 14:24-25
God
speaks through His people. He speaks today just as He
did through the Old Testament Prophets. He speaks today
just as He did during the accountings of the New Testament.
God speaks through those called as Prophets, those with
the gift of prophecy and also those who are not called
as Prophets or who do not have the gift of prophecy but
are sensitive to His voice and the leading of the Holy
Spirit. Each one speaks to the level of their calling,
gifting, sensitivity, brokenness, and faith.
The sure words of the Holy Scriptures, the evidence of
the confirming accuracy of anointed prophetic ministry
and the witness of the Holy Spirit in the prophetic vessel,
are definite testaments to the validity and necessity
of Godly prophetic voices in our time.
We live in a world where the people of God and the lost
are desperately seeking the voice of God. God most certainly
wants to speak directly to the individual (Isaiah 30:21)
but He also most certainly speaks through the anointed
child of God to bring confirmation, direction, insight,
conviction, encouragement, inspiration, and revelation
to a world desperate for authentic, Holy Spirit empowered
Christianity.
The awesome truths of God's word are insightfully unfolded
to reveal the life-changing (1 Samuel 10:5-7) power of
the prophetic--past, present, and future!
